Adoption Info

 All animals at Second Hand Purrs are given a veterinary exam before arriving at the shelter and the following procedures are included in the adoption fee:

  • Tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV
  • Distemper Booster
  • Rabies Booster (if 6 months or older)
  • Fecal Testing
  • Deworming preventative (Initial doses with a follow-up)
  • Flea bath
  • Ear mite treatment, if needed
  • Spayed or neutered (if 6 months of age or older)

Our adoption fee is $80 for one cat/kitten or two cats/kittens for $130. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Upon adoption approval, all cats and kittens within a 50 mile radius will be delivered to their new homes.

 

This holiday season Second Hand Purrs is joining nearly 3,500 other animal organizations from around the world to participate in the Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive. Our goal this holiday season is to help place 1.5 million homeless animals into happy, loving homes. In 2009 we adopted out 325 cats and kittens to new and loving homes! Help us make 2010 a bigger and better year for the animals!

Sponsor one of our cats for $15 per month until the cat is adopted. Your name (example “This cat sponsored by R. Smith”) will be added to the cat’s personality description on our website.
